Subject: multi-party collaboration test cases

The BP Specification Schema and the UMM Metamodel
have somewhat different approaches to multi-party
business collaborations. The ebXML "infrastructure
release" will have some limitations in this area.
The Spec Schema tries to get around those limitations,
but this topic was raised by the QR team as a significant
potential problem.

My purpose in this message is *not* to debate the merits
of any particular design, but to start to ground the issue
in real-world test cases.

I think if we desk-check the Spec Schema against a set
of good test cases we will have a much better idea of
what we can and cannot do with it.

To that end, I am trying to collect multi-party collaboration
scenarios. Here is what I have so far:

*Jim Clark's DSL field service collaboration POC proposal,
with Subscriber, Communication Provider, and multiple
Field Labor Providers.

*David Welsh's Dotcom Dropship scenario with Customer,
Dotcom, Vendor, Carrier and Credit Authority.

*Sig Handelman's Core Components POC proposal
with Buyer, Seller and Payment Authority.

*Andrew Chilcott's UK Securities Transaction Flow
with Fund Manager, Broker, Registrars, Stock Exchange,
Settlement System, Trader, Banks, etc. (I'll post this
somewhere when this activity gets organized.)

The above may enough, at least to start with.
How much interest is out there for this kind of an
activity? Can we put together some kind of session
in Vancouver?

Thanks,
Bob Haugen
