The way to keep personal issues off the list is to be sensitive to others.
Now, I could have sent William an email directly, but, that would not have
generated the public discussion that is necessary about a member of the
group.

Since I don't know William personally, you have provided me with the
necssary education regarding his sense of humor.  Now I will be able to take
that into consideration when reading his emails.

I withdrawl my question regarding William and hope we can proceed with
positive discussion.
