Subject: RE: [ebxml-dev] FYI: More on ebXML and "Web Services"
I personally feel, web services have made possible one thing: Getting the vendors (by this I mean the BIG ones) to think in one unified way, at least on the agreement of using XML, SOAP, (UDDI/WSDL)/ebXML. That itself is a significant achievement! -ranjeet -----Original Message----- From: Dan Weinreb [mailto:dlw@exceloncorp.com] Sent: Monday, October 15, 2001 9:48 AM To: mike@rawlinsecconsulting.com Cc: ebxml-dev@lists.ebxml.org Subject: Re: [ebxml-dev] FYI: More on ebXML and "Web Services" Date: Mon, 15 Oct 2001 11:37:57 -0500 From: Mike Rawlins <mike@rawlinsecconsulting.com> The Monday morning curmudgeon votes for (c) ;^) From the stories I've been reading in the industry press, I get the impression that the reporters for these magazines are getting tired of being told "X is the next big thing", duly reporting about how important and wonderful X is, and then seeing X fade into oblivion. I suspect the reporters feel as if they've been "burned" and are getting more skeptical about "emerging industry trends". I can see why they could reasonably have this kind of attitude about the buzzphrase "web services". ---------------------------------------------------------------- The ebxml-dev list is sponsored by OASIS.
