Subject: RE: [ebxml-dev] Needed help on ebxml structure
Irfana, I think you are referring to ebXML Registry specification. An ebXML Registry is both a "registry" and a "repository" A rough analogy might be repository -> warehouse registry -> catalog The registry stores meta-information (as you would find in a catalog) about the items stored in the repository. The meta-information is also classified using classification schemes (just like categories in a catalog). The ebXML registry can also be used simply as a registry, if needed. Now to answer your question. The "registry" is the directory service, and the "repository" does need a database. Howe ever, the registry itself may be implemented using a database. The ebXML Registry lets you use SQL queries also to access information the registry. For details, please read the registry specs at www.ebxml.org Hope this helps, -Suresh Sterling Commerce, Inc. -----Original Message----- From: irfana [mailto:irfana@compusolsoftware.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2002 12:47 AM To: ebxml-dev@lists.ebxml.org Subject: [ebxml-dev] Needed help on ebxml structure Hi, I am new to ebxml.
