Subject: RE: [ebxml-dev] Help needed
Asha, It depends on the topography of your application. If your application resides in a "walled garden" and all the clients are under the authority of the same organization, there is no problem in deploying the registry/repository as a directory service. This would assume a ldap based registry client. If the application is exposed to the internet at large then you would probably want to use a ldap gateway in front of your ldap database. The gateway would translate SOAP and/or ebMS based messages to ldap queries. Generally, organizations don't expose databases to unrestricted clients for security reasons. This would create the more traditional registry/repository architecture (i.e., the registry functions would be embedded in the gateway and the repository storage requirements would handled by the ldap database). zack -----Original Message----- From: asham [mailto:asham@compusolsoftware.com] Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 5:00 AM To: Ebxml (E-mail) Subject: [ebxml-dev] Help needed Hi, I'm new to ebXML. I know ebXML registrory/repository is a database. Can anybody tell me whether ebXML registry/repository can be maintained as single database rather as repository as data warehouse and registory as directory services/database. Hope to receive a speedy reply Best Regards Asha Morais ---------------------------------------------------------------- The ebxml-dev list is sponsored by OASIS.
