Title: ebXML Core Components Technical Specification

Dear All,

I am pleased to report that at its recently completed 10th Plenary Session held 19-24 May at the UN facilities in Geneva, the UN/CEFACT Plenary voted to submit the ebXML Core Components Technical Specification to ISO TC154 as Part 8 of ISO 15000. The UN Secretariat officially forwarded the specification to the ISO Secretariat on 1 June for fast track approval. The chair of ISO TC154 has promised quick action.

The inclusion of the ebXML CCTS in the suite of recently approved ISO 15000 technical specifications is a welcome addition. As the list of organizations and standards bodies basing their data structures and information exchanges on CCTS continues to grow, unparalleled levels of semantic interoperability will become a reality.
