"Pull" with ebMS 2.0 would seem to be a proprietary extension to or deviation from the ebMS 2.0 standard, please explain how a conformant product would do this ...
Compression based on attaching ZIP binaries: yes you can do compression outside the MSH without using a standard protocol. And while you're at it, you can also do signing, encryption, retries, duplicate elimination, packaging outside the MSH without using a standard protocol. People do it all the time, and they're all doing it in a different way ...
Cheers,
Pim
Pim,
So - ebMS2 with ZIP binary attachment another option for compression - while I believe you can setup the ebMS2 to respond to message request - to emulate a "pull" style delivery. Not quite as clean obviously but at least gets you up and running while you await the native ebMS3 versions...
Actually I believe there are many people already using these techniques with ebMS2 out there.

David,
The ebMS3 "Pull" and AS4 payload compression features are allow organizations to efficiently send large payloads to partners that use client-only endpoints.
Kind Regards,

Pim,
I assume he is wanting specific capabilities that only ebXML 3 supports? Would be good to identify requirements - because obviously there are a whole range of ebXML 2 solutions that will work fine - and also may already have some of what he is wanting.
