Subject: [ebxml-mktg] ebXML support announcement
Kinzan Announces General Availability of AWSS 2.5 Services framework now supports global ebXML standard and open source environments, greatly expanding opportunities for creating reliable and cost-effective service-based applications CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 21, 2003) - Kinzan, a leading provider of Web services software for the extended enterprise, today announced general availability of version 2.5 of its Adaptive Web Services Suite (AWSS.) "As a framework for developing service-based applications, AWSS dramatically reduces the costs of integration both within and between companies by breaking applications into components and services that can be easily modified and re-used," said Gari Cheever, CEO at Kinzan. The new version provides Kinzan's customers and partners with the ability to create a broader range of service-based applications through support for ebXML, the globally accepted standard for conducting electronic business between companies. It also enables customers and partners to deploy those applications to a wider variety of server environments through support for Apache Tomcat in addition to IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic. By incorporating support for ebXML, AWSS 2.5 enables the creation of both simple request and respond services using web services standards such as SOAP, WSDL and UDDI as well as more complex transactional services using the security and reliability features of ebXML. Using Kinzan's ebXML service, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Company, the largest telecommunications company in the world, recently passed a battery of ebXML interoperability tests organized by the Electronic Commerce Promotion Council of Japan (ECOM). "As a service provider, we know the importance of standards and interoperability," said Haruhisa Ichikawa, Executive Director at NTT Information Sharing Platform Laboratories, "and Kinzan's AWSS allows us to integrate business processes with partners using globally accepted standards that have been proven to be reliable and interoperable." With AWSS 2.5, IT organizations and systems integrators also now have a wider variety of choices when it comes to deploying their service-based applications. In addition to supporting leading application server environment such as IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic, AWSS can be run on top of open source environments such as Apache Tomcat.
