Subject: S2ML and ebXML
Any ideas of the plans of Commerce One and Sun and how they plan to offer this to ebXML, especially since a security effort was just started in Tokyo? Bob _________ Bob Sutor Director, IBM e-business Standards Strategy Office 716-243-2445 / Cellular 716-317-6899 IBM Tieline 320-9138 / Fax 716-243-1778 "Askary, Sid" <saskary@netfish.com> on 11/16/2000 03:03:11 PM To: "'ebxml-ta-security@lists.ebxml.org'" <ebxml-ta-security@lists.ebxml.org>, "'ebxml-stc@lists.ebxml.org'" <ebxml-stc@lists.ebxml.org> cc: Subject: RE: meeting and conference call schedule request... Regardless of what the spec would be, I feel a little left out. Here we were talking about security at ebxml under the "OASIS" umbrella, and now there is this announcement. Is this another UDDI (that is "ebxml is not good enough so let's go out and build our own"). Any thoughts? How does this affect our momentum, etc.? Thanks, Sid. -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Ferris - XTC Advanced Development [mailto:chris.ferris@east.sun.com] Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2000 11:33 AM To: ebxml-ta-security@lists.ebxml.org Subject: Re: meeting and conference call schedule request... Here's the website with all the publicly available info: http://www.s2ml.org/ The spec is getting there. We're working through another draft before it is published as a Note to W3C and OASIS to form the TC which will further its development. Can we use S2ML for ebXML? Or, is it worth considering? To the latter, I'd say yes, indeed it *is* worth considering. To the former, I think that needs to be determined by ebXML, probably by this group. In fact, I think that it has quite a bit of merit as regards regrep use for authentication and authorization.
