Subject: RE: minutes of Dec. 6-8 TP team F2F in Boston

Hi Stefano,

Here is my understanding of that discussion. We were
discussing how the POC could test some aspects of the
work done by BP. The POC needs to have a specification
from another WG in order to test that specification by
attempting an implementation. BSI is not something that
the TRP group is planning to do. So the BSI-related
specifications or informational documents or POC example
need to be developed and made available to POC (by Jan 15
for the Vancouver POC effort.)

Possibly the DTDs and sample XML for BPs could fulfill
the POC need for a WG document/specification. In addition,
I wanted to suggest that scenarios related to a BP example
would be useful for POC to test out. Each POC participant's
implementation of the "back-end" integration would be created
to illustrate the scenario, possibly involving some signals
and other coordination (probably involving business level timeouts
or involving non-repudiation-of-receipt and so on).
As far as I know, there is no intention within ebXML to define
the BSI interface in sufficient detail that vendor "interoperability"
could be displayed. That is, we are not defining a BSI component
interface that could allow various MS implementations to interchangeably
work with different BSI component implementations. That provides
a limitation on just what could be demonstrated/tested by POC--
interchangeability of MS to BSI interfaces/components
are not currently testable.

Hope that starts clarifying aspects of the discussion.
