Subject: RE: COMPLEXITY BIG ISSUE

Bob

I've received three emails today like this one asking me to help people get
of the ebXML transport list - there have been around 40 emails today alone
!!

The trouble is I don't know how to do it and I can't find anything on the
ebXML web site.

Can you help

David

No. I was looking for something that provided guidelines on:
1. Criteria for identifying a "good" XML definition
2. Guidlines for when to use attributes vs elements
3. How to name things
4. How to plan for schemas ...

etc

<David>
Not so fast.

I agree.

<David>
and wouldn't it be nice if there was an ebXML "style guide" for writing XML,

</David>

Were you refering to something like this:
http://asf.gils.net/xer/decisions.html#a_6
<http://asf.gils.net/xer/decisions.html#a_6>
Interestingly enough, one can find section: "A.10 Optional DTD and schema
representations are subordinate to the ASN.1 specification".

<David>
PS perhaps I'm starting the "religous war" by raising this issue now ... ;-)

</David>

I think we have to raise all the issues that we perceive as important (early

stage => find and prioritize issues (risks)) without being afraid that it
might generate ...
