Subject: Minutes conf call April 13, 2000

ATTENDEE LIST - Not taken - too busy ;-)

DEMO - Nick Kassem:
*	agreement on scope of the memo at Dallas,
*	demonstrate role and value of the messages
*	re making source availabile and IP issues (within Sun) - current
position: intend to make sources publicly available, after header specs are
public and have been voted on
*	question Nick wants to know how folks want to engage on the project
- ACTION everyone who wants to get involved - post message to the TRP list,
GEIS and SABRE expressed interest on the phone as do 8760 and possible IBM
*	Sun will also produce a "lessons learned" paper

PACKAGING - Dick Brooks
*	Working group in Dallas developed a Multi-part MIME approach with
the two parts, first part contains header, second part contains the payload
*	Agreed to include in the header: content length in MIME headers,
version numbers of the ebXML message
*	Payload can be anything - this means that type of data can be placed
in there and sender must set MIME type correctly
*	each part will have a Content Id either "ebXMLHeader" or
"ebXMLPayload"
*	also decided that Multi-Part form can also be used - Dick is working
out
*	Rik - stated that XML only wrappers is not yet completely ready
hence using MIME initially
*	Need a mechanism in the headers (e.g. the Message Manifest) to
indicate that there is no payload ACTION - Message Header sub group

DUE DILIGENCE OF HEADER SPEC - John Ibbotson
*	Need to get people who supplied the details of the original specs
and send them copies of the header and then critique the ebXML header so
that we can link back from the ebXML spec to these headers
*	Probably want to put the mapping in a separate document
*	As a result of this there will be gaps identified which will result
in revisions to the header definitions

HEADERS - David Burdett
*	Went through headers, there was discussion around the role of
Message Type and how it would be used
*	David said that he was developing a paper that would explain Message
Type
*	John Ibbotson - The idea is that data in the header should be usable
so that an ebXML handler can provided added value.

PROGRESS - Rik Drummond
Where are we on meeting deadlines:
*	Prototype - Can we publish a description of what the prototype will
do. Nick Kassem plans to release a description this week. ACTION - Any
issues about the prototype go to Nick directly
*	Packaging - Can we publish a paper - Dick plans to get paper out by
Saturday. The paper will be based on available technology
*	Headers - Nick K wants to focus on level 4 headers so that he can
understand the totality of what the ebXML transport should do. Want to
address hot issues such as Message Type and Layering.
*	ACTION - David to post copy of Message Type paper to the list by the
end of the day (April 13)
