Subject: minutes - tr&p con call Jan 18, 2001
Attendees Ian Jones John Ibbotson Chris Ferris Krishna Sankar Ralph Berwanger Henry Lowe Doug Bunting Gary Morin Chris Kulpa Martha Warfelt Philippe DeSmedt Prasad Yendluri Robert Adams Dick Brooks Minutes - Update on London Face 2 Face accomplishments - version v0.92 of Message Service specification has been published to the list (available on the "private" web page) represents the output of the face2face meeting - we have much more work to accomplish before Vancouver when the team MUST submit the "final" draft to QR for the final ebXML-wide review prior to voting in April - Rik gave a heads up on the press release that OASIS plans on publishing - Ralph - process issue - comments outstanding are primarily editorial in nature. Chris proposed that the team have a few days to review the editorial comments proposed and vote on the block during each weeks call. Rik wants Ralph to be responsible for the process. Agreed process leading to Vancouver for editorial changes: - team to send comments to the list following the guidelines that have been established: - line number from v0.92 draft WITHOUT changes highlighted - classification as to nature of comment: editorial minor technical major technical - Chris to collate all of the *editorial* comments sent to the list before 5 pm EST each Tuesday into a single email that will be sent out for the team to review prior to each week's conference call (Thursday) - team to *briefly* discuss the block of changes listed in Chris's weekly summary email. Any items that meet with disagreement (e.g. is not editorial or the change is inappropriate, etc.) will be briefly discussed and/or omitted from consideration in the vote. Omitted items MAY be resubmitted for consideration the following week. - team votes on the acceptance of the block of changes - Ralph and other members of editorial team will incorporate the changes into the draft This process begins with next week's call. - AIAG thinks that the spec is too complicated and confusing especially as regards reliable messaging, synchronous messaging and security. - We formed two sub-teams: Reliable Messaging/Multi-Hop - Chris will lead Synchronous Messaging - Prasad will lead These teams are chartered to work towards formal proposals for the specification that will be considered and approved during the Vancouver Meeting. Each lead is responsible for getting their respective teams engaged and delivering something for the TR&P team to consider before the Vancouver meeting. - Rik reviewed the proposed OASIS press release announcing the availability of the version 1.0 Message Service specificaton. All felt that this press release is at best premature and that it should be squashed. Rik will inform the Steering Committee and OASIS. - Some discussion as to the remaining schedule and its agressive nature was held. -- Christopher Ferris _/_/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Sr Staff Engineer - XTC Advanced Development _/ _/ _/ _/_/ _/ Phone: 781-442-3063 or x23063 _/_/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Email: chris.ferris@East.Sun.COM _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ Sun Microsystems, Mailstop: UBUR03-313 _/_/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ 1 Network Drive Burlington, MA 01803-0903
