Subject: webmastering, was RE: Agenda for Wednesday face to face
At whatever point you start discussing web pages I'd like to be involved, as there is an issue of resources. Presently, Shahrzad (a Sun intern) is still maintaining the site on a day-to-day basis. We should have the data from the crashed disk early this week, so with any luck she will be able to finish reconstructing the site to its pre-crash glory in a week or so. OASIS has just hired a new entry-webmaster, who will, together with our senior-level webmaster, be maintaining all of the OASIS sites including ebXML. Once Shahrzad has completed the reconstruction of the crashed site we will transition day-to-day maintenance of the ebXML site from Sun to OASIS. We will have sufficient webmastering resources for day-to-day maintenence etc. of ebXML, and possibly some level of enhancement work, but if someone is going to start suggesting major overhauls I will be pushing back. What the site really needs, I think, is more current, up-to-date info; maybe this is what Ed was talking about. At (and since) the San Jose mtg the team leads have been asked to update the info on their pages. Some of them have been doing this, some have not. We (OASIS webmasters) have created new directory structures and logins for each of the teams, so the team leads now have the ability to update their own files. We are also starting the membership database project, where a user can click a link to generate a current list of participants; we hope to have something to show by Tokyo. </karl> ============================================================ Karl F.
