Subject: RE: Storage of UML models
Message text written by MERCEY Jacques > The same for a BP tool vendor, he can define collaborative processes with whatever paradigm he wants as far as his clients are comfortable with that paradigm. The only mandatory thing for him to do is to publish/read those collaborations in/from an XML format compliant with the ebXML metamodel. So, I am very surprised to see that translation to XML would NOT be a fundamental service. In my opinion, XML exposure, and hence XML translation, is THE fundamental service. Please, correct me if I misinterpret your thoughts. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Jacques, The point about the translation service is that it is EXTERNAL to the RegRep. Transformation support is in the requirements for RegRep - but as an EXTERNAL function call. So if the RegRep has a DTD and you want to see it as XSD and the Reg has a link to a transformation service that morphs DTD -> XSD then it can expose that information to you and you can retireve the DTD and call the service - but that is TOTALLY your responsiblity at this point. We can only climb so many mountains in one day. Thanks, DW.
