Subject: Re: FW: 2 July BP meeting notes and 16 July BP meeting notice
I'm forwarding this message on behalf of Jim Clark. Paul Levine Jim Clark <jim.clark@e2 To: "Paul R. Levine (E-mail)" open.com> <plevine@telcordia.com> cc: (bcc: Paul R. Levine/Telcordia) 07/05/01 Subject: FW: 2 July BP meeting notes and 16 July BP 11:52 AM meeting notice All, May I speak for myself. What I said was the following: 1) That the only changes 'needed to be made' to the R9 release were editorial in nature. That the R9 release reflected all of the changes agreed to in Dallas and that this in no way reflects any 'instability' in the current release or need to wait on a 'Dublin' release. The N090R9 is the official version that all should reference. 2) Moving the model to Objecteering as a drawing tool has nothing to do with the current 'versioning with the spec'. It is an editor preference on the tool used to draw the UML diagrams. 3)The issue around Objecteering is that I was offering a courtesy copy of the model as XMI for use by Mr. Riemer. XMI is not an official product of the TMWG. 4)The UML model in and of itself is not the basis of the semantics of the metamodel. Along with the UML diagrams are attribute definitions, constraints, well-formedness rules and normative text. One cannot use just the UML diagrams and fully understand the meta-model. 5) The release of the next version of N090 should be based on the criterion set forth by the TMWG. It is not for myself to say. Respectfully to all, Jim Clark Director of Industry Solutions E2Open 936.263.3366(direct) 936.520.7428(cell) -----Original Message----- From: Karsten Riemer [mailto:Karsten.Riemer@Sun.COM] Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 8:39 AM To: Karsten.Riemer@Sun.COM Cc: ebxml-bp@lists.ebxml.org Subject: Re: 2 July BP meeting notes and 16 July BP meeting notice Comment on the meeting minutes: "Jim Clark stated that editorial revisions have been made and the metamodel diagrams have been recast in the Objecteering tool. Jim said a revision needs to be produced as a basis for the work in the Dublin TMWG meeting, and that XMI output would be created based on that revision, as well as another revision reflecting the output of the Dublin meeting." I don't know if I am reading the minutes right, but the current state of the UMM metamodel needs to be made available now, in advance of the Dublin meeting, so that we can all comment on whether we agree with the basis that is being taken into the Dublin meeting. If the model has reached a stable 'versionable' point right now, then send out the model in what ever format you have, don't wait for a conversion to Objecteering, don't wait for a complete document to be finished and spell checked. The model is the basis, and we all know how to read the diagram. So if it exists, send it out now, thanks, -karsten >ebXML BP PT Members, > >The minutes of the 2 July conference call are attached in an .rtf file. >The discussion will be continued in a conference call meeting on 16 July, >2001, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. To access this call, dial 888-699-0348 >domestically and +1 732-336-6000 internationally.
