A draft plan to form OASIS/ebXML technical committees that was
accidentally posted to the ebXML-CCBP-Analysis list October 16 has
been put on hold for the time being pending talks in Tokyo aimed
at reaching consensus on the best way to proceed.

The objective is to extend the modeling work now taking place in
ebXML to the definition of standard XML business schemas.  The
OASIS/ebXML TC plan is just one of several possible ways in which
this objective could be accomplished.

Any successful initiative to establish the concrete XML syntax for
business transactions must gain equal participation from business
domain experts, EDI experts, and XML experts.  We must agree upon
an organizational structure that will allow these experts to work
together in a way that is both procedurally accountable and
expeditious.

I look forward to discussing this with many of you at the ebXML
meeting in Tokyo.
