Subject: FW: BP/CC POC Sub-proposal
I'm forwarding this message to the materials list because it relates to the agenda for next Wed Sep 20 core components workshop at AIAG. I was invited to the workshop along with Bill McCarthy. We both have cleared our decks to attend. Jim Clark of BP and I have been working with the Materials Management business process model to bring it into conformance with the ebXML metamodel. One of the purposes of conformance is so the MM work can be used as a viable candidate for the ebXML Tokyo POC demo. There have been various conversations over whether there will be time in the Wed workshop to go over the work Jim and I have done, and also the methodology (from the methodology work group) that we used to do it. The methodology group has proposed that a liaison person be appointed by the materials group so that everybody in the group does not need to spend a lot of time on the business process revision. But somebody does. Sig Handelman was suggested as the liaison, and we think he is an excellent choice. But all of this is a set of undecided issues: 1. Should I come to the Sept 20 workshop? 2. Will there be time to go over the business process revisions? 3. Should Sig be appointed as a liaison? 4. Does the group want to move fast to produce a viable candidate for the Tokyo POC, or would you prefer to wait for Vancouver? ...and probably other issues I have not considered. Note: Bill and I will probably stay over Thursday for other matters, and maybe even Friday, so I could continue the conversation for at least part of Thursday.
