On the discussion about EDIFACT and SMEs I would like to add the following: XML will be just another standard (as EDIFACT is one). Standards have been around for about 25 years now. Small companies are not looking for these standards, they need solutions. This does not mean that one can not try to come up with good standards. But whether SMEs will start using them, will largely depend on the solutions.
