The problem was not with the document, but with the way it was included
in the e-mail.  It doesn't seem to be a formal attachment: The
spreadsheet was uuencoded and sent as ordinary text. If you have
uudecode you should be able to just give it the whole message you have
received and it will extract the file.

The ZIP file you just sent will have the same problem, and shows up as
creepy characters in the archives - see
http://lists.ebxml.org/archives/ebxml-core/200101/msg00025.html.

People with Outlook Express should have no problem reading the
"attachment," because it is very forgiving. I've included the ZIP file
so it is (hopefully) correctly attached.
