Subject: RE: SMEs : was RE: Party XML Schema Defintions
Without sounding like a devils advocate, how much is the real busine$$ value of 'discovery' as described below. In terms used by some, "what's the customer experience ?". There's very observant and valid statements made about SME's. There's also been many SME stimulation programs over the past years in many European country's. All of it a reality check I'd rather have as a head's up going in on dealing with a company's business expectations for ebXML; tactical & strategic. I think any government would be more than interested in stimulating SME's; with all the votes that goes with it! But are we really identifying a subject that measures on par with setting up a national road system or a national education program; ie. beyond the means of any single 8,000lb gorilla organization anywhere in the world, even here in the Seattle area. ebXML, via UN/CEFACT and X.12, have the mechanisms in place today and could engage some of the 'heavest lifting powers' that can play a major role to helping stimulate such a fundamental socio-economic change; national laws, international trade treaty's, ... Just my CDN $.02 for whatever it's worth at today's exchange rate.
