This log file does not exist and the console tells nothing. Thanks for
your advise.

let's step back and try something simple that will test the App Server.

please try

http://hostName:port/NASApp/fortune/fortune
I can successfully visit this link with this message:

The Oracular Servlet greets you!

Your fortune is... Do not express unto others evil today.

this will help verify that the app server is up and functioning.

could you please send me the output of:

ls -al <iAS home>/ias/logs/*
The logs have been attached.

ps -ef | grep -i http

ps -ef | grep -i slapd

ps -ef | grep -i ias
The iPlanet runs on Windows 2000. Both the "service" in control panel and the console that starts the iAS (regrep.sh)  report that they

have been started successfully.

ps -ef | grep -i ora
The outputs:

I think Oracle works properly, as other Oracle applications run properly and I can connect the registry db with
sqlplus remotely.

Actually my installation went fine, except for the importing of ldap information onto the ldap server. It reported that
the users and groups can't be loaded, although I think I edited the files correctly.

I tried to remove iPlanet Application Server and Web Server and re-install all the stuff, but did not populate the directory as
it is optional. The logs and errors seem exactly the same as before.

Here are the configurations:
Database Server: Oracle 8.1.6 on Redhat 6.2
Application Server: iPlanet 6.0 on Windows 2000
Web Server: iPlanet WebServer 4.1 (test drive phase II)

Thank you very much.

thanks,
