Subject: Re: [ebxml-dev] ebXML DTDs - UBL Update
As Chair of the UBL Library Content subcommittee I guess I can follow up on Farrukh's response. For the past 12 months we have been developing a XML Vocabulary based on the emerging work of the CEFACT (nee ebXML) Core Components Technical Specification. We assume that this will provide the most appropriate ebXML payloads in terms of interoperability (although of course, any payload can be used within the ebXML infrastructure just as UBL can be used outside the ebXML infrastructure). With respect to where UBL is at today, we have just completed a major review cycle of our 0.65 release and are working to produce version 0.70 for review on Dec 2nd. 2002. This includes a suite of document definitions (XML Schema) for basic procurement functionality (Order, Order Change, Order Response, Despatch Advice, Receipt Advice and Invoice), conforming to the CEFACT Core Component Specifications v1.85. In addition the UBL Library is a library of re-usable types which can be used to assemble document schemas to suit other contexts of use. This will be the first release that we are encouraging commercial users to use for trial implementations. We would welcome groups like GXS to participate with us on this. UBL is an open standard under the auspices of OASIS and as such we rely heavily on practical experience to strengthen the quality of our work. Please contact me directly or sign up under our web portal http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ubl/ for more details. Farrukh Najmi wrote: > Hi Kezban, > > UBL specification is not yet complete.
