IDA is a European Commission driven strategic initiative using advances in information and communications technology to support rapid electronic exchange of information between Member State administrations. The objective is to improve Community decision-making, facilitate operation of the internal market and accelerate policy implementation. Today, the results of a study on Business to business frameworks for IDA networks were published here: http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/ida/jsps/doc.jsp?1564 From the executive summary: "The study has shown that ebXML is the only framework that is at the same time generic and flexible, and can be used for inter-administrations relations. Moreover, ebXML is clearly the only trend for organised business communities. The general recommendation is to follow ebXML standards as much as possible. This is coherent with the fact that many exchanges between European administrations reflect the interactions between those administrations and the national business world."
