Subject: ebXML proof-of-concept
All, There has been strong support for the Fujitsu proposal, and I'd like to add mine as well. It identifies the key areas that we need to show at the next ebXML meeting. Having also read the GCI proposal (including the hand-out from the PoC planning meeting in San Jose, and the memo and associated picture that Melanie sent out earlier this afternoon), I believe that a marriage of the two would be a good way to go. The Fujitsu proposal is a good blueprint for the structure and architecture of the demo, and the GCI proposal complements it with the necessary demonstration model (business process, payloads, etc.). As Krishna from Cisco pointed out, it would indeed be worthwhile to identify facilitators for each of the roles (sender, receiver, hub, repository, etc.), so that the PoC can be more easily coordinated. I'd like to volunteer Viquity to coordinate the hub role, as we did for the San Jose PoC. Based on other companies' participation and a more detailed analysis of what the proposed PoC requires, we could also play additional roles. The Fujitsu and GCI proposals are both very sound and complement each other very well, and I trust that combined they can form the basis for a successful PoC in November. I'll look forward to others' suggestions and alternative proposals as well. -Philippe _______________________________ Philippe De Smedt Architect Viquity Corporation (www.viquity.com) 1161 N.
