Borgens of CompTIA.

Received this response from Tammy Borgens of
CompTIA. I believe it is useful information that various vendors may also like
to share in. You may post it to the ebxml-poc and ebxml-iic aliases as you deem
appropriate. As you say, perhaps it may encourage others to
partake.
I look forward to seeing how this
evolves.
David

Thanks much for your
response.
CompTIA's Electronic Commerce Standards Board (ECSB) is seeking to have a
small group of vendors (2-to-4) provide an ebXML PoC and demonstrate their
ability to interact through ebXML primarily focusing on passing messages using
the ebXML messaging, routing and transport protocol, but perhaps also including a demonstration of
the registry/repository and trading partner agreements negotiation (if
available). The intent of the PoC is to provide our members a live
demonstration of how ebXML fits into the current and future e-commerce
environment, it's ability to inter-operate between vendor implementations, and
its general capabilities.
In the
recent past our European ECSB meetings have had 25-to-50 attendees and have
included, and we anticipate attendance at the Reading UK ECSB meeting to
include, representatives directly involved in B2B e-commerce from: Microsoft,
IBM, Compaq, HP, IngramMicro, 3Com, and others. Other scheduled
speakers at the Reading conference include speakers from RosettaNet, UK
e-Envoy's Office, IBM, EU Commission, WebGiro AB, WebMethods, Rational Rose, and
others.
I've attached the EU ECSB Meeting Notice
which outlines the logistics. If you have additional questions, they may be directed to Dave Sommer, Director
of Electronic Commerce, CompTIA (dsommer@comptia.org ,
630-268-1818 x1328).
We look forward to your
participation.
Regards,
Tammy Borgens
