Subject: RE: JSR-000093: JAXR - your opinions?
I am not certain what type of opinion you are looking for, but to me, this shows commitment to ebXML that will enable ebXML registries. I strongly support JAXR. My fundamental reason is that the true success of ebXML is real implementations BEYOND that of proof-of-concept. I would hope that a COM implementation is next, showing real interoperability. Are you concerned about the press and how they view this as a Sun initiative only? (I think I was labelled as the fat bureaucrat - which really has forced me to diet more) Best regards, Scott -----Original Message----- From: Bob Sutor To: ebxml-regrep@lists.ebxml.org Sent: 1/11/01 3:52 PM Subject: JSR-000093: JAXR - your opinions? I would be interested in hearing the opinions of this group regarding the proposed JSR-000093 Java(TM) API for XML Registries 1.0 (JAXR) at http://java.sun.com/aboutJava/communityprocess/jsr/jsr_093_jaxr.html particularly because it includes as contributions ebXML Registry Information Model Specification and the ebXML Registry Services Specification. In particular, it raises again the issue of specific language bidings for XML-related specifications and who should do them (reminds me of the DOM), and how to deal with such bindings when the primary means of accessing an application is via XML messaging.
