Subject: RE: Vienna agenda
Ravi, As I mentioned to Saito-san, if time permits later in the week, we can discuss presentation materials. There is a long agenda of technical items. I, however, have found that building a presentation is a very personal thing, so I am not convinced of the value of an "official" set of slides. Anyone who wants to use my slides as a basis is welcome. I will put your other topics on the agenda list. However bear in mind the following: There is NO dependency on the ebXML Registry (or any other registry) in the CPP-CPA specification. All references to the Registry are non-normative (using the word MAY, for example). Two partners can exchange CPPs by email and manually build a CPA if they want. There IS a dependency on a registry if one wants to DISCOVER potential partners. That is a registry specification issue, however, not a CPP-CPA issue. The CPP is a document in a registry to be found by potential business partners. There is not a tight dependency on the ebXML Business Process Specification Schema. In response to a QR comment, we have clarified the words in the specification to make it clear that alternative descriptions of the Business Collaboration can be used. To do this the Parties have to agree on an appropriate interpretation of the elements and attributes that refer to the Business Collaboration description. There is more work to be done in this area but it has to be viewed as post-Vienna. Regards, Marty ************************************************************************************* Martin W. It will be nice to concentrate on some Presentation ( Powerpoint etc) material that briefly describes the overview of CPP/CPA Specs.. What are the functionalities and features it accomplishes to establish business relationship... explain each critical element of the spec with examples ... and finally a description of a SIMPLE CPA and SIMPLE CPP template wiuth required and optional elements. This material can be used in several forums to facilitate explanation of the value proposition of the CPS ?CPP specifications and how they have to build to achieve e-business relationship. On a separtate topic, at OAG Meeting in Paris while reviewing the CPP/CPA Spec it appeared to the audience there that there is a tight relatioship between CPP/CPA Spec to Business Procees Spec and Messaging Service Spec spec, Registry Repository Spec. In absence of these dependency information details not resident in any Registry/Repository YET how can the CPP/CPA Spec be used in isolation? A discussion on this issue is relevant as well as a How To guide be useful. Looking forward to our meeting in Vienna. Thanks.
