YES!  You have expressed very cleanly exactly what has been bugging me
throughout this entire discussion.  The web *freed* us from relying on any
one transport protocol.  We  now seem to be walking completely away from the
paradigm shift (when was the last time you heard that!) that led us to the
place we are now.</ROGER>

I also humbly agree.  I am not privy to the discussions by the transport
committee so I don't know the entire plan for action.  I believe that XML,
ipso facto, is independant from the transportation protocol.  Therefor, by
using XML we are heading in the right direction.

I look forward to hearing the transport group's recommendation arising from
the April meeting.
