Subject: Re: New example for appendix
Gait, The examples are generated using a software program available to me, which automatically produces the headers you refer to. These can certainly be removed from the example, however it's important to point out the HTTP 1.1 spec states the following in section 14.43, regarding the User-Agent header: "User agents SHOULD include this field with requests." That is the reason you see it present in the example. With regard to the Connection header, the HTTP 1.1 spec indicates this header is used to inform a receiver to close a connection, this header may be needed by the reliable messaging folks in their HTTP bindings. The examples are provided to assist people in understanding the packaging and header portions of the MS specification and are not intended to be "formal specifications". The TR&P team is planning to provide formal, standard HTTP bindings and the examples will be updated to reflect the formal standard at that time. Anything related to HTTP bindings in the current spec, especially the items you mentioned, should be considered "non-normative".
