I understand many feel that way, including some true XML eminences (as
you kindly linked).  Others, including XMLDSIG, feel otherwise.  But
since it's already a closed issue, I'll withdraw again.

Well, almost.  The main nit that really bothers me is that the version
is in the MIME header and in the ebXMLHeader document.  Can we remove
one of those redundancies?
