Subject: UN/CEFACT and OASIS Introduce ebXML-DEV Mail List
UN/CEFACT and OASIS Introduce ebXML-DEV Mail List Geneva, Switzerland and Boston, MA, USA; 22 May 2001 -- UN/CEFACT and OASIS today announced the formation of ebXML-DEV, a mail list for the ebXML development community. Hosted by OASIS, ebXML-DEV provides an open forum for serious ebXML developers and those interested in implementing ebXML to share information and experiences. Today’s announcement follows the recent ratification of the ebXML specifications, which facilitate open trade between organizations regardless of size by enabling XML to be used in a consistent manner to exchange electronic business data. “Now that we’ve reached our milestone of developing ebXML, we want to support those involved in implementing the specifications,” said Klaus-Dieter Naujok of IONA, member of the UN/CEFACT Steering Committee. “The ebXML-DEV mail list fosters the productive discussion of ebXML topics and provides a valuable resource for those seeking practical information.” “ebXML-DEV is a self-moderated forum for the open exchange of ideas,” explained Karl Best, OASIS director of technical operations. “OASIS will host the list as a service to the community, but the content of the discussions will be driven by the participants themselves.” Individuals may subscribe to ebXML-DEV online at http://www.ebxml.org. About ebXML ebXML, sponsored by UN/CEFACT and OASIS, is a modular suite of specifications that enables enterprises of any size and in any geographical location to conduct business over the Internet.
