Subject: Classification again
This is an extension to my previous sketch on classification
and discovery. Some statements were made on today's
metamodel conference call that only business processes
need to be classified. I disagree.
The ebXML repository is likely to contain many re-usable
components that need to be classified, including:
Parties
PartnerTypes
PartnerRoles
BusinessProcesses
BusinessCollaborations
CommercialTransactions
BusinessDocuments
CoreComponents
(and maybe even BusinessObjects)
Here are some classifications of
BusinessDocuments and CoreComponents.
Don't get hung up on the names; each of these
high-level categories has a precise definition
in the current metamodel.
Agreement
TPA
EconomicContract
LongTermContract
Order
DeliverySchedule
Commitment
OrderLineItem
Kanban
EconomicEvent
Shipment
Payment
EconomicResourceDefinition
(yes, there will be documents and core components
representing each of these)
ProductDefinition
EconomicServiceDefinition
TransportationServiceDefinition
EconomicResource
Inventory
ContainerContents
Respectfully,
Bob Haugen
