Subject: RE: negotiation business process

All,

Attached is an ebXML Business Process Specification XML document for
RosettaNet PIP 3A4 version 1.4 that I did as a personal POC. I think it is
correct, but if someone finds a mistake or I left something out, please let
me know. Some interesting points:
* Use of Packages to represent Cluster, Segment and PIP
* Use of guardExpression and XPath to determine the response type, since
RosettaNet uses the same message for both positive and negative responses.
* Use of XPath to reference other elements.
* Only 74 lines of XML for the entire PIP!

Best regards,

P.S. I will not be able to attend the Vienna meeting, hope it is a great
one!

Marty, I am also very interested in exploring that connection. There
should definitely be some discussion of it Monday. If I am not in Vienna
-- which suddenly looks at risk for business reasons -- I will be available
to you by phone (at the appalling hours in question, i.e., starting 3 am
Los Angeles time Monday). I will update you on my travel plans shortly.

Please note there is a bit of history on this issue --

1. Duane Nickull and I had planned to go over some of the early attempts
he made to code a BP procedure, but this (understandably) got lost in his
press of product releases at XML Global. I think he may have some
relevant artifacts, thought.

2. I understand from Bob Haugen that he, Karsten Riemer and Nita Sharma
and Bob Haugen spent a bit of time working out additional details of the
"negotiation pattern" collaboration. So they would also be an important
addition to this conversation.

best regards and safe travel

Jamie
