Defining a whole new vocabulary from scratch seems as if it will
repeat work that has already been done, redone, and refined.
There are many other groups working on this problem; does it
really make sense for ebXML to start all over again?

The following is an interesting paper entitled "XML schema design for
business-to-business e-commerce" by Arofan T. Gregory of CommerceOne,
who maintains their "XML Common Business Library".
