Subject: Re: [ebxml-dev] Re: Adding commodities to ebXML

I've been driving an update to several of the UNSPSC segments (as a Segment Technical Lead and Steering Committee member). One of the big challenges in the current model is the ability to share different formats that consumers of the information, as well as relate multiple hierarchies together (e.g. mappings between UNSPSC & NAICS & others). --Mike ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Farrukh Najmi <Farrukh.Najmi@Sun.COM> Date: Tue, 24 Aug 2004 07:41:28 -0400 >Mike Kirkwood wrote: > >>Does the ebXML repository has included a commodity hierarchy, such as UNSPSC or eClass in it's base system? >> >>From following the group, I realize that 4 node hierarchy model UNSPSC, plus it's definitions and growing attributes would be any easy thing to manage and share in ebXML and wondered if it has been undertaken to import it and update it. >> >> >> >Hi Mike, > >I am copying ebxml-dev as other may benefit from our exchange. > >ebXML Registry allows arbitrary taxonomy hierarchies to be loaded into >it.
