Re: flood of empty messages

I am also getting the same flood of empty messages, and in addition, I
have seen a few responses from other members of this listserver which I
have received in duplicate.  At first, I thought this might have been
the work of some prank artist that broke into the listserver and caused
it to misfire.  It now looks like a software bug that somehow is linked
to the time of day clock.

Fortunately, this is a problem that is nothing more serious than a mild
case of hemmorhoids.  It could, however, be potentially devastating in
that it might start running endlessly, ultimately choking the e-mail
servers of everybody that is subscribing to this listserver.  For this
reason, I would like to recommend to the person in charge of the
listserver to shut it down and try to ascertain if it has been infected
by a virus or else has encountered something which acts as a trigger in
making it generate null messages.  Like others, I hate having to clean
my mailbox each time I go out for new messages.
