Since you start off by referring to my set of articles, please allow me to clarify and add a few more words. I do not agree with the assertion that "ebXML has failed"; it is an overstatement and is too general. I do feel that V 1.0 failed to meet the initial goals of interoperability and support for SMEs, but that doesn't mean that it is a failure in general. In addition, there are certainly opportunities in the ongoing work to address the V1.0 deficiencies and better meet the primary goals.
