Todd,

I fully agree with almost everything you said
about QuickBooks and BCM.

However, the combined projects in eBTWG
are defining the specs for a BCM.  First
public drafts are due very soon.  I'll
drop a note on this list when they surface.

In particular, the Business Collaboration
Protocol group just published the first
internal draft of the logic for Business Services,
which will be Web services for ebXML
business collaborations.
